Opening the new Carhartt WIP shop-in-shop in style
Carhartt WIP was one of the very first streetwear labels I ever bought for Funkie House. We’ve shared a long history together ever since, so in a way, we grew up side by side.
That’s why I was incredibly happy eight years ago (16-03-2017), when we opened the very first Carhartt WIP shop-in-shop in the Netherlands, right in our basement. Over the years, Carhartt WIP has continued to grow along with us, and today we are the largest and most extensive independent Carhartt WIP retailer in the Netherlands.
After almost ten years it was about time for an update. The idea was to have more space to let all those amazing collections truly shine at Funkie House. Carhartt WIP completely renewed the interior, following the latest standards and design language of the brand. An architectural firm from Italy was even brought in to shape the concept properly. To elevate everything even further, we also installed a brand-new floor ourselves. The new Carhartt WIP shop-in-shop already open, but we'll have an official opening, combined with Funkie Radio on Saturday, January 31st.
So it probably comes as no surprise that you’ll often find me wearing a Carhartt WIP outfit. For this shoot, I’m wearing the new Marv Pants. Super comfortable, with the perfect baggy fit that I’m really into right now. The double front pleats give keep the look stylish. On top, I’m wearing a Carhartt Sweat, which is a true classic for me. Season after season it's being delivered in the best color combinations. And of course, another classic piece. The OG Santa Fe Jacket simply can’t be missing with the beautiful, heavy Dearborn canvas. The inside of the jacket has a striking red stitched lining. To finish off the look, I’m wearing my favorite sneakers: the Salomon XT-6. Let’s just say the number of XT-6 colorways I own goes well beyond what one hand can count.
