Vans was founded in 1966 by Paul Van Doren. The Van Doren Rubber company was founded in 1966 by Paul Van Doren, James Van Doren, Gordon C Lee and Serge D'Elia. Thus, Vans was born. The logo was designed in 1970 by Mark Van Doren, Paul and James' younger brother. Since then, Vans grew into perhaps the biggest skate brand on the market today. Vans opened its own skatepark in '98 and went on to open several other skateparks in the United States. Vans also became a sponsor of skate/surf/snowboard events. This is how Vans was born and grew into an iconic global skate brand. Vans embodies the creative California lifestyle, which goes hand in hand with our Funkie attitude towards and expressing yourself!
Vans' premium stays true to its roots while stepping things up with a lightweight canvas upper, a refined fit, and a cushioned insole for lasting comfort and a softer step. It’s a new level of wearability for a timeless original. Iconic Vans designs are Authentic, Old Skool, and Slip-On, to name a few. These go great with workwear by Carhartt WIP and Dickies or pair them with laid back streetwear wear by Obey, Gramicci and Edwin
